Bruce Berman
LLB
Bruce was admitted to the Supreme Court of New Zealand in 1962 and started working as a solicitor, for Berman & Burton since then, later becoming a partner and subsequently Principal of the firm.
Bruce’s areas of interest are General and Commercial conveyancing, Commercial law, Wills, Trusts and Probates and Sports law, areas in which he actively practices today.
Apart from being a keen tennis player, Bruce is also the Honorary Solicitor for Tennis Auckland. He also enjoys playing badminton and bridge and a keen spectator of most sports.

Meena Datt
LLM (Hons)
Meena has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in two common law jurisdictions, Fiji and New Zealand. She was first admitted to the High Court of New Zealand in 1997 and has been in practice since. Her main areas of interest are trade related aspects of Intellectual Property and fiduciary aspects of various legal relationships, the areas in which she pursued her Masters degree.
As a practising lawyer, Meena has an extensive, in depth knowledge of immigration law and the procedures of the Immigration New Zealand. Meena has represented many migrant clients from all walks of life before the various migration appeal bodies, the Minister of Immigration, Department of Labor and the Ombud’s office. She has also appeared as counsel for refugees from different countries before the Refugee Status Board and the Refugee Status Appeals Authority.
Prior to joining Berman & Burton, Meena practiced as a barrister sole and provided consultancy services to Hurakia Migration Limited, which has successfully represented many migrants.
Meena speaks several languages including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and has a working knowledge of other Asian languages. She is the Honorary Solicitor for the Cambodian Association (INC) Auckland.

Michael Meyrick
MA (Hons), LLB (Hons)
Michael was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1997. He has extensive experience in litigation and Court work. He has a number of years of experience in dealing with difficult criminal matters, both as Counsel and as a prosecutor, having previously served in the New Zealand Police Force for over 20 years. Michael also appears as Counsel during Parole Board hearings and has successfully represented clients as an Employment Advocate.
Michael is also a historian with a Masters degree in history. He is a graduate in politics and is well equipped to prepare, understand and argue refugee cases. He often appears as Counsel with prospective migrants during immigration related interviews and Court trials.
Michael has been part of various local school committees and has served many community groups and has appeared in Maori Land Courts and the Waitangi Tribunal.

Ryan McKelvin
LLB (Hons)
Ryan was admitted as an attorney in the Republic of South Africa in 2007. Ryan brings with him considerable experience in South Africa’s challenging environment of dealing with complex matters relating to medical negligence, wrongful arrests and improper police actions.
Ryan has since been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. His work now focuses on extensive litigation work, with a particular emphasis on all types of family and criminal work. Ryan has already dealt with wide-ranging parenting and guardianship disputes and has achieved good results for his clients.
Ryan is also an ardent community worker and volunteers his services to St John in his spare time as an Ambulance officer. He is a fluent speaker of Afrikaans and English.
