Michael was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1997. He has extensive experience in litigation and Court work. He has a number of years of experience in dealing with difficult criminal matters, both as Counsel and as a prosecutor, having previously served in the New Zealand Police Force for over 20 years. Michael also appears as Counsel during Parole Board hearings and has successfully represented clients as an Employment Advocate.
Michael is also a historian with a Masters degree in history. He is a graduate in politics and is well equipped to prepare, understand and argue refugee cases. He often appears as Counsel with prospective migrants during immigration related interviews and Court trials.
Michael has been part of various local school committees and has served many community groups and has appeared in Maori Land Courts and the Waitangi Tribunal.
